When I was 12, I saved my paper route money for over a year to buy an Olympus OM-1 SLR 35mm camera — a waste of money to many given I am nearly blind in my right eye. But seeing things differently was what I knew, next to knowing I wanted to capture what I saw in ordinary and extraordinary things.
Years later I was told by an eye doctor "you being a photographer makes sense since you see the world as a photograph." Seeing the world with virtually no depth perception has been a challenge at times in my life. Now I know it's something special.
The way I see led me to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), a degree in photography, and success building creative businesses around mostly moving images. Something many would perceive as an obstacle turned out to be one of my most important assets.
My love of the photograph has been rekindled, and these images are the result, to me it's just.....
